INITIative Ireland's TOAST-IBD group is in the process of developing a core outcome set for IBD patients with stomas who represent a cohort that are universally excluded from clinical trials.
TOAST-IBD = Treatment Outcomes Associated with STomas in Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
INITIative Ireland is looking for:
- IBD patients with stomas
- Gastroenterologists
- Colorectal surgeons
- IBD nurses
- Stoma care nurses
to develop a core outcome set.
Most IBD patients with stomas are excluded from clinical trials as there are no reliable outcome measures. We aim to develop a core outcome set so that these patients can be included in the future. We will be sending out questionnaires and facilitating consensus meetings to rank and finalise reliable outcomes.
