The ESCP President's 2023 Welcome Message
Dear Colleagues, Members of the ESCP
It is a great honour and pleasure as President of the ESCP to invite you to our Society’s annual conference. Last year we met in Dublin, Ireland, from 21 - 23rd September. We all enjoyed the values and joy of an in-person meeting after too long a period of necessary virtual meetings. It was a success, we received a lot of positive comments, and some areas of improvement, which we really appreciate and have tried to implement in Vilnius.
The various committees of the Society, including the Programme, Education, Research, Guidelines, Communications, Membership, and Global Reach committees, in collaboration with our dedicated supporting team, have made significant contributions towards organizing a stimulating and enlightening event in Vilnius. This event encompasses a broad spectrum of topics, showcases the most recent advancements in the field of Coloproctology, and aims to engage a diverse audience.
We firmly believe that this occasion will present yet another exceptional opportunity for individuals to convene, foster face-to-face interactions, exchange ideas, derive knowledge from scientific and educational content, and partake in enjoyable social activities alongside their esteemed peers and colleagues. Please rest assured that every possible measure will be taken to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants throughout the duration of the meeting.
For individuals unable to attend the conference in person, provisions have been made to deliver a virtual component through the ESCP platforms.
We eagerly anticipate extending our warm welcome to you at the 18th Annual Meeting of our esteemed Society. We earnestly seek the invaluable contributions and active participation of all our members and attendees at our Annual Meeting. Your involvement will undeniably contribute to the sustained success of one of the world's leading Societies in the field of Coloproctology.
Eloy Espin Basany, President of ESCP
