The ESCP President and General Secretary #ESCP2021 Welcome Messages
Dear colleagues and members of ESCP
As President of the ESCP I am honoured and privileged to invite you to the 16th Annual Scientific Conference of our Society which will be held from Wednesday 22 to Friday 24 September 2021. As you will note, no physical venue has been announced.
Again, the uncertainty caused by the pandemic, still present worldwide, has changed our plans and required that we organise the Conference in a completely virtual format. Although we cannot be physically close and enjoy a face-to-face meeting, the situation offers the opportunity for wider participation, with either real time or on demand participation in the activities of the meeting.
The Programme and Education Committees, the whole of the Executive membership and the PCO have spent a tremendous amount of working hours in producing and presenting an excellent scientific programme. We are looking forward to your participation and substantial contribution to the success of another exciting and fruitful ESCP meeting.
Evangelos Xynos
President, ESCP
As General Secretary of the ESCP, it is my pleasure to invite you to join us virtually in September 2021 for our yearly Scientific Meeting.
Following the cancellation of the 2020 in-presence meeting due to the COVID 19 pandemic, and considering the uncertainty about a live meeting even this year, we have opted for a virtual meeting and today, with an exciting and innovative format, we are more than excited to welcome you to join us virtually!
A virtual conference, while missing out on the usual hospitality that we all enjoy, brings with it new opportunities for wider participation within the global community of colorectal surgeons. The programme will emphasise the hottest themes in our field. Despite the challenges presented by Covid 2021 remains a time of great opportunity and promise with new ideas, new data and new technologies allowing us to rise to that challenge. We will hear more of this during the meeting!
Thanks for your ever growing support for the initiatives of our Society, your Society.
Antonino Spinelli
General Secretary, ESCP
