For a third year the Cleveland Clinic have announced their Smith Surgical Scholarships. These scholarships are designed to allow residents in training and colorectal fellows throughout the world, and practicing surgeons in developing countries, to attend the annual International Colorectal Disease Symposium at the David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem, Israel from 25-28 February 2020.
A maximum of $3,000 will be made available as reimbursement for registration fee, travel, accommodation, ground transfers, and meals.
Applicants must submit:
- A curriculum vitae
- Trainee/fellow: letter of recommendation from residency or fellowship programme director
- Practicing surgeon in a developing country: Letter of recommendation from department chair; statement (not to exceed one page) explaining the reason for wanting to be awarded a Smith Surgical Scholarship, as well as a practice description and explanation of how participating in the programme will improve your practice and the care of your patients.
