Many congratulations to our prizewinners from ESCP Dublin! Milou Martens (the Netherlands) won the BJS Society Prize for the Best of the Six Best Papers, and Sebastian Smolarek (United Kingdom) won the Best Lunchtime Poster award. They were presented with their prizes at the meeting.
The Best of the 6 Best: Milou Martens
Milou Martens from Maastricht University Medical Centre, the Netherlands has won the BJS Society Prize for her presentation entitled “Organ-preservation for clinical complete responders after chemoradiation for rectal cancer - Does timing of selection matter?”
Dr Martens will travel to the ASCRS meeting in Los Angeles, California in April 2016 to present her paper there as part of the ESCP/ASCRS reciprocal Travelling Fellow programme.
Best Lunchtime Poster: Sebastian Smolarek
Sebastian Smolarek from Morriston Hospital Swansea, United Kingdom, was awarded the ESCP prize for Best Lunchtime Poster. His poster was entitled: ‘Adhesional small bowel obstruction post open and laparoscopic colorectal surgery: a prospective longer-term study’.
