2015 has seen further development of our Fellowships Programme, which now offers a wider variety of formats to provide flexibility and greater opportunity; this re-design followed indications that we got from some National Representatives, that shorter periods to observe would be more accessible for those unable to leave their posts for a longer period.

Therefore, our fellowships for 2015-16 will comprise:

  • 2 six-months fellowships
  • 4 three-months fellowships
  • 4 two-week observer-ships
  • 12 pre-congress two-day placements

In addition, a further two reciprocal travelling fellowships continue with the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and with the Japanese Society of Coloproctology. Says Klaus Matzel “the number of applications was extremely high, and the selection of the best
candidates very challenging”.

These fellowships will take place from late 2015 and into 2016 and have been awarded as follows:
