An Interview with Professor Willem Bemelman and Dr Roel Hompes

ESCP is dedicating this time to colorectal surgery training. We are interviewing experts and educators from around the world, aiming to assess current colorectal training status globally, highlighting pros and cons, and identifying sustainable pathways for improvement.
Prof Bemelman is Professor of Minimally Invasive and Colorectal Surgery at AUMC, and is an ESCP Past President. Dr Hompes is a consultant colorectal surgeon at the Academic Medical Center Amsterdam, University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He specialises in minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy and TAMIS), management of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and chronic pelvic sepsis.
