ColoRobotica, an initiative of ESCP's European School of Coloproctology (ESC), invites you to participate in our Advanced Colorectal Robotic Surgery Workshop. Designed for the experienced colorectal robotic consultant, this workshop aims to deepen your expertise in robotic colorectal surgery with a focus on complex cases. Over two days, you will engage in hands-on sessions led by esteemed experts in the field, enhancing both your knowledge and practical skills.
Workshop overview
- Led by experts: Gain insights from leading surgeons in the field of colorectal robotic surgery, including Jim Khan, Paolo Pietro Bianchi and Marcos Gómez Ruiz, who will share their deep knowledge and practical experiences through a mix of theoretical discussions and practical, hands-on cadaver lab sessions.
- Hands-on learning: Participants will have the opportunity to practice advanced surgical techniques using cadaver models, ensuring a highly interactive and practical learning experience. The workshop is designed to provide ample time for each attendee to engage in hands-on activities, with cadavers reused on Day 2 for sustainability and deepened learning.
- Cutting-edge techniques: Focus on the latest advances in colorectal robotic surgery, covering complex procedures such as Robotic Total Mesorectal Excision (TME) and Intersphincteric Resection (ISR), Robotic Lateral Lymph Node Dissection (LLND), and more. This includes managing challenging scenarios and employing tips and tricks shared by our experts.
Eligibility criteria
To ensure a productive and focused environment, attendance is limited to 12 surgeons who meet the following criteria:
- Access to a DaVinci Robotic Platform in their home institution
- Have completed a minimum of 50 robotic colorectal surgeries
- Submission of a short CV and a letter of support from their supervisor or head of department
- Acceptance to the workshop will be via a competitive selection process. Depending on the circumstances, interviews with the Steering Committee may be required.
Why Attend?
This advanced workshop is an exceptional opportunity to:
- Enhance your technical skills in complex robotic colorectal surgery procedures.
- Learn directly from renowned experts in the field.
- Participate in an immersive, hands-on learning environment designed to simulate real-world scenarios.
- Network with peers and leaders in colorectal robotic surgery.
Enhance your expertise and advance your practice in colorectal robotic surgery.
We encourage experienced surgeons to apply early as spaces are limited. This is an unparalleled opportunity to develop your colorectal robotic surgical skills further and integrate the latest advancements into your practice.
