ESCP is delighted to announce that applications are now sought for the Japan Society of Coloproctology Travelling Fellowship 2019. The deadline is Friday 28 June 2019.
This much coveted Fellowship opportunity started out in 2008, and has been a life-changing experience for many fellows. Lasting 1-2 weeks, the fellowship is timed to coincide with the Japan Society of Coloproctology Annual Meeting in October where the successful applicant will present their abstract. In addition, they will observe procedures at a number of hospitals and specialist centres in Japan, as well as having the chance to do some sightseeing.

Quotes from past fellows
"It is a unique experience, allowing to visit several referral centers in a short period and making this fellowship truly educational.... I lived in an environment full of hospitality and culture, but above all I have had the opportunity to know many new friends and this is for a young surgeon as I am as important as attending a perfect surgical operation."
Gaetano Gallo, JSCP Travelling Fellow 2018
"It far exceeds your expectations, provides a deep and unique learning experience, allows you to meet some of the most skilled and at the same time friendliest and hospitable surgeons on the planet and also allows you to be immersed in a very different and fascinating culture.'
Fraser Smith, JSCP Travelling Fellow 2017
"I absolutely recommend that any young European colorectal surgeon strive to gain the privilege to travel to these or other Japanese colorectal centres, optimally as part of this ESCP exchange fellowship or indeed independently. The benefits to one’s own personal education and reflective practice are immeasurable and the experience truly unforgettable."
Richard Brady, JSCP Travelling Fellow 2016
