ESCP is striving to be the leading coloproctology society in the world by building global research networks and cross-continent educational collaborations.

Sharing research and experiences, and learning from each other, is key to the growth of our field of surgery, enabling us to answer questions faster and ensure findings are generalizable.

ESCP’s membership extends around the world and we have strong links with colorectal societies in Korea, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, across Central and South America, and, of course, across Europe. Each year our conference becomes ever more international.

Over the coming years ESCP plans to extend its global reach and to build on its ongoing work and partnerships - some of which are highlighted below. The society has established a Global Reach Committee to take this work forward. Keep up-to-date on Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn by following and engaging with the hashtag #ESCPGlobalReach.

ESCP has led in developing international research networks for over a decade. Studies in bowel anastomosis recruited over 20,000 patients from nearly 50 countries. Most recently the EAGLE study involved 370 hospitals and nearly 3,000 surgeons from 75 countries. The East of Damascus study is also completing follow up in 2023. If you want to be involved in the research projects, join our webinars, explore the links below. A worldwide study of abdominal wound closure will be launched in 2023 - why don’t you join us?
