The goal of the Training Village is to provide a short and structured training experience for colorectal trainees during the Conference.

Registration:
This opportunity is reserved for registered ESCP Conference attendees, and primarily intended for trainees and early career practitioners. In principle, there will be no additional fee and registration procedure, unless applicable by the sponsors in charge of the training stations in the Village. For more details on the programme of the stations, please refer to the section below.
ESCP and the organisers of the Training Village stations are keen to avoid non-attendance from registered participants. Therefore, all trainees must get permission from their supervisor/mentor before registering to any of the proposed slots. Supervisors’ contact details will be requested upon registration.

Training Stations Programme
Station Title: Take the First Step Towards your Da Vinci Career
Get ready to dive into your first experience with da Vinci surgical systems by starting to build you basic da Vinci skills during a dedicated simulator training on one of our SimNow stations in the Training Village.
As you rotate through the four stations you will not only understand and acquire first critical skills to experience the da Vinci surgical system's vision, precision and control but also learn about the seamless power of INTUITIVE's digital ecosystem and how digital solutions support your da Vinci training and career.
During this 60 minute training experience you will understand the impact that today's digital tools have on your learning & skill development and how to set yourself up for success in da Vinci surgery.
Learning Objectives
Station 1: How digital solutions support your da Vinci training and career - SimNow Simulator
- Manage camera control
- Manage clutch
- Optimize wrist articulation
- Control energy delivery
Station 2: Start building your basic skills for da Vinci surgical systems
- Gain holistic view how digital ecosystem supports your da Vinci robotic learning curve and career
- Understand today’s digital tools and impact to gain insights into your learning & skill development
- How to set yourself up for success in da Vinci surgery
Station 3: Remote training and teaching : the observers’ perspective
- Understand functionality of digital teaching platform
- Learn how communication differs vs. onsite teaching
Station 4: Remote training and teaching : the trainees perspective
- Receiving remote support and follow instructions being given from remote mentor
- Develop your da Vinci assisted skills

How will learning objective be evaluated?
Learning objectives will evaluated at end of each station with different parameters, ranging from scores for skill drills over solving multiple choice questions.
Station Title: Precise Dissection. Safe Stapling. Secure Anastomosis.
On behalf of the Johnson & Johnson Institute and the faculty, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to our innovative workshop. This workshop is part of the Training Village and places special emphasis on the safe and effective use of energy devices and staplers, essential tools in colorectal surgery. Each session will include four stations where participants can practice a wide range of critical procedural tasks as part of laparoscopic right and left hemicolectomies.
This includes stapling and anastomotic techniques, lymph node dissection, and vessel isolation as part of TME or Partial TME. With guidance from experienced instructors, participants will gain practical experience in mastering surgical innovations, enabling them to build more confidence in navigating critical steps when operating on their patients. Join us in this transformative workshop, where hands-on practice with state-of-the-art simulators will empower you to excel in colorectal surgery.
The faculty will be available throughout the hands-on sessions, rotating between different stations, and sharing tips and tricks with the trainees.
