For the first time, ESCP Education Committee ran a Training Village at ESCP Vienna 2019.
Thanks to support from Ethicon, laptop laparoscopic simulators (Simendo®) and two virtual reality training systems were available during the coffee and lunch breaks for delegates to practice surgical techniques at the hands-on stations. Delegates could use the laptops to measure and improve their laparoscopic dexterity and the virtual reality systems to perform an open right hemicolectomy.
The village was primarily aimed at our trainee delegates and there was faculty present to assist and advise.
